New CRAFT innovation centre planned for NETPark

The Centre for Realisation and Advancement of Future Technologies (CRAFT), led by Durham University, is planned to be based at NETPark as part of a new multi-million-pound regional innovation programme.
CRAFT will bring together researchers, businesses and public-sector partners to turn scientific research into practical technologies, products and services. Its work will focus on areas including space and fusion, creating new opportunities for collaboration, investment and business growth.
It is one of four projects receiving a share of £23.7 million from the government’s Local Innovation Partnerships Fund. Together, the projects are expected to unlock a further £55 million in private investment.
The planned centre will build on NETPark’s long-standing partnership with Durham University and further strengthen the park’s role in helping companies develop and commercialise next-generation technologies.
