High Sheriff of Durham to Host Special Auckland Palace Concert Supporting Young People Across the Region

A special fundraising concert at Auckland Palace next month will help support grassroots organisations making a difference to the lives of young people across County Durham and the wider region.

Hosted on behalf of Dr Arnab Basu MBE DL, the current High Sheriff of Durham and CEO of NETPark-based technology company Kromek, the event will take place on Thursday 12 November in the historic surroundings of St Peter's Chapel at Auckland Palace.

The concert aims to raise funds for the High Sheriff's Youth Awards programme, which supports community organisations working with young people across County Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool and Stockton. Facilitated by Point North, the awards have helped more than 120 grassroots organisations and reached over 46,000 young people since 2012.

As High Sheriff of Durham, Dr Basu has made improving opportunities for young people a key focus of his year in office, particularly for those facing disadvantage, struggling with mental health challenges or at risk of becoming involved in crime.

Standard tickets for the fundraising event are £30, and VIP tickets are £50. To book tickets or find out more, visit A magical evening of choral music with wine and canapés | The Auckland Project.
