NETPark is proud to be highlighted in recent articles and briefing by Lockheed Martin which discusses the company’s continued investment in the UK space industry and its plans for a proposed Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) facility at NETPark in County Durham.
If realised, the facility would represent a significant step forward for the UK’s satellite manufacturing capability and further strengthen NETPark’s position as a leading location for space and advanced technology companies.
NETPark is already home to a growing cluster of organisations working across areas including satellite communications, advanced materials, photonics and semiconductor technologies. The addition of a world-class AIT facility would complement this ecosystem, creating new opportunities for collaboration between industry, academia and the wider supply chain.
The proposal also aligns with the development of the North East Space Skills and Technology Centre (NESST) at Northumbria University, helping to ensure that the region has both the facilities and the skilled workforce needed to support the future growth of the UK space sector.
With its expanding innovation community and £100m development programme creating new laboratory and office space, NETPark continues to attract organisations working at the forefront of science and technology.
