New £9.6bn Government Framework Signals Big Opportunity for Tech Suppliers

A major UK public sector procurement opportunity has been published on the Find a Tender portal for “Tactical Communication Systems” by the Crown Commercial Service.
The framework is substantial in scope, with an estimated value of over £9.6 billion (inclusive of VAT), and covers advanced hardware, software, design, implementation, and support services for critical real-time tactical communication and information systems. These systems are intended for deployment in active operational environments and have potential cross-government uses across Defence and Security sectors.
The procurement has been structured into three lots covering services, complete systems, and discrete components, giving suppliers multiple entry points depending on their capabilities. The framework is scheduled to run from 26 June 2026 to 25 June 2029, with submissions currently open and due by 12 February 2026.
