Magnitude Biosciences Ltd, based at NETPark, has been nominated for the Northern PoWEr Women Awards in the “Tech for Good” category — a recognition of its pioneering work in ethical and accessible drug discovery.

The company’s WormGazer technology and High-Throughput Screening platform use C. elegans as a whole-organism model, enabling thousands of compounds to be screened weekly. This approach is helping accelerate the search for treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, while reducing reliance on traditional animal testing.

The nomination highlights the achievements of Magnitude’s innovative tech team, led by co-founder and CTO Chris Saunter, whose patented developments continue to push boundaries in bioscience. CEO Dr Fozia Saleem’s leadership and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion also play a central role in shaping the company’s culture and impact.

Magnitude Biosciences also expressed its appreciation for Simone Roche MBE and the Northern PoWEr Women Awards team, whose work in championing women and diverse talent across the North continues to inspire.

As a thriving member of the NETPark community, Magnitude Biosciences exemplifies the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines the park. NETPark is home to world-class science and technology companies working together to deliver real-world solutions with global impact.
