Kromek wins National CBRN Centre Award

Kromek, the NETPark-based developer of radiation detectors, won the National CBRN Centre Certificate of Merit 2023 at the recent TAC-ADS conference.

The award was made in recognition of Kromek’s ongoing service and support to the National CBRN Centre and other security partners, strengthening the UK’s response to potential counter-terror threats.

The TAC-ADS annual event brought together emergency service response teams from across the country. These included police, fire and ambulance purchasing agencies, and Government agencies and departments, including the National CBRN Centre, Defence CBRN Centre, the Army’s 28 Engineer Regiment (C-CBRN), DSTL, Cranfield University (Shrivenham) and the wider Ministry of Defence.

The annual conference is a forum for Tactical Commanders across the civil and military community to discuss current and future trends in, and transforming the response to, CBRN. An extensive CBRN capability is now an essential element of the Tactical Command tool-kit, Civil Contingencies Responses and part of both Counter Terrorist and Criminal Incident Response.

This year, the Kromek team demonstrated their suite of handheld radiation detectors including the D3S and the D5 RIID, and also introduced their City Map digital detection capability. Which you can visit here: citymap.kromek.com

Kromek’s CBRN Business Manager, Craig Duff, said “We are proud to have won the National CBRN Centre’s Certificate of Merit. We believe that our range of products, with their built-in networked capability, enables us to offer the emergency services the most effective detection and identification systems to counter growing CBRN threats.”
