Filtronic lands £4.5m defence contract starting early next year

It is the latest in a string of new business for the communications technology supplier

Filtronic has announced a £4.5m contract with what it has described as a new UK defence customers.


The company told shareholders the latest piece of work will begin in January and will see it provide its radio frequency modules.


Filtronic said that after a product qualification phase it expects to start delivery of the units over a 12 month period from the final quarter of 2024.


Richard Gibbs, chief executive officer, said: "We have been working closely with the new customer over several years and this contract win represents a successful collaboration between the MoD, the customer, Filtronic and PRFI, a leading UK-based technical design consultancy providing monolithic microwave integrated circuits services. It is yet another example of Filtronic's ability to support the UK defence industry with a sovereign supply chain for advanced semiconductor packaging solutions that are optimised for both thermal and radio frequency (RF) performance."
