County Durham Tech firm Filtronic wins Airbus satellite contract

The company will make the equipment – which will be fitted into satellite payloads – at its NETPark-based headquarters in Sedgefield, County Durham.

Filtronic has secured a contract to help expand global broadband connectivity and is set to supply filter and diplexer assemblies to Airbus Defence and Space.

The apparatus will support production of satellites for Eutelsat OneWeb, which operates a low Earth orbit satellite constellation focused on enhancing broadband links worldwide.
