Celebrating NETPark's Arnab Basu as High Sheriff of County Durham

A special Durham Cathedral service and Durham Castle reception have been held to celebrate the appointment of Durham University alumnus Dr Arnab Basu MBE as High Sheriff of County Durham.

Dr Basu (Physics, Ustinov College, 1999-2003) co-founded the Durham spinout Kromek Group in 2003, and continues to lead it as CEO. 

He is currently serving as High Sheriff of the County Palatine of Durham for the 2026/27 civic year, and a Durham Cathedral Matins service and Durham Castle reception was held on Sunday 12 July.
