About

CPI’s National Healthcare Photonics Centre is a specialist facility giving access to equipment and expertise for companies of all sizes to develop their photonics-based technologies for healthcare and turn them in to commercially viable products.

Opened in December 2018, the purpose built facility is located at NETPark, adjacent to CPI’s National Formulation Centre. Initially the centre will focus on light-based technology in the themes of imaging, diagnostics and therapy.

Key facilities include a manufacturing area, flexible optics laboratories with re-configurable light-tight cubicles, a suite of life science laboratories and an X-ray test and development lab.

In addition, services that are critical to translating promising technologies into clinical adoption, including access to clinicians and expertise in health economics, regulatory planning and clinical trial planning, by forming collaborative partnerships across the healthcare innovation landscape, are available.
