Specialist Recruitment firm makes move to North East Technology Park

A SPECIALIST recruitment firm, which has years of expertise supporting science and technology companies, has made the move into new premises at NETPark, in County Durham.

CK Group, with its Science, Technical and Clinical divisions, has moved into Discovery 2 on the technology park at Sedgefield as it looks to grow its market in the North East.

Lorna Crombie, a director at CK Group, said they had been looking for bigger space at the same time as NETPark’s manager had been receiving enquiries from tenants looking for a specialist recruitment company to provide services onsite.

Said Lorna: “Our strengths include retaining our staff for a long time which means that all the knowledge they build up of our clients’ needs stays within the business. It’s really important for us to retain good staff in a high turnover industry and we believe in training and investing in our people.

“NETPark is great for our staff and clients as it’s easy to get to know people here with the many networking events and other site activities taking place all the time. We’re on hand to support businesses with their recruitment needs as they grow and find the best people for them with the best fit for their business. It’s really important to us that we go the extra mile and develop solid, long-lasting relationships with all our clients.”

CK Group’s head office is in Chesterfield and has been established since 1991.  Ten people are based at NETPark.

Fast-growing NETPark, which is run by Business Durham, the economic development organisation working on behalf of Durham County Council, has recently undergone a £7.4m expansion and created new space for companies looking to scale up.

Janet Todd, NETPark manager, said: “We’re delighted to welcome CK Science onto the park – they have the experience and expertise to provide a highly specialised, quality service to our other tenants should they require it.”

Access to quality facilities was one of the main drivers for deciding to locate the business at the NETPark. We have been able to use this as a launch pad to link into support from CPI and world-class expertise from Durham University.
