NETPark Life with Mia Tierney Barista at The Cafe @ NETPark

NETPark Life is a regular feature that we hope will provide insight into the types of people and businesses you’ll find at NETPark, as well as what it’s like to work here in Sedgefield, County Durham from the people who know it best!

In this feature we ask Mia Tierney who works as a barista at our new Café about her NETPark Life.

1.How long have you worked at The Cafe @ NETPark and what is a typical day like?

I have worked at the Park Life Café NETPark for four weeks and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far due to the friendly staff and organisation which managing the café. A typical day begins with a slow start, which consists of preparing food and organising for the day ahead. This quickly changes into a busy lunchtime where everyone works together to ensure the customers are satisfied with the service provided. Towards the end of the day, the café begins to settle. As a team we clean and prepare for the following day.

2.What do you like most about your job?

Whilst working at Park Life Café I have learned a variety of new skills and experiences. Something that I like about my job is making and perfecting different coffees, as I feel the quality of someone’s coffee and the customer service an individual is given can shape their day. We aim to provide our customers with the best service and are willing to compromise when needed. I also love how the same people visit the café, as I feel it shows we are doing a good job and it allows us to build a better connection with our customers.

3.What is the best thing about working at NETPark?

The best thing about working at the NETPark is the fast-paced work ethic. We have all learned to work under pressure and help others around. Another thing that has contributed to my delightful experience is the friendly staff that always have a positive attitude and greet everyone with a warm smile and a willingness to help in anyway they can.

4.What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

When I am not working I enjoy spending as much time with my family as possible. I also love to walk my two dogs, Zac and Willow around NETPark due to it being a quiet and tranquil area. As well as this, I enjoy going out with my friends in Durham after college.
