NETPark Life is a regular feature providing insight into the types of people and businesses you’ll find at NETPark, as well as what it’s like to work here in Sedgefield, County Durham from the people who know it best!
In this feature, we ask Filtronic’s Process Engineer Callum Harker about his NETPark Life.
- How long have you worked at Filtronic and what is a typical day like?
I originally joined in 2016 as a product engineer (tracking yields, production issues etc.), and moved to process engineering (programming machine, setting up processes, training operators etc.) after nearly 2 years.
- What do you like most about your job?
The variety and the learning. Each day I could be doing something different; programming a machine, identifying machine or product faults, setting up or improving an existing process, building prototype units, creating jigging, documentation, the list goes on really.
- What is the best thing about working at NETPark?
The best thing about NETPark is how beautiful the surrounding area is. It’s also in close proximity to where I live, which is a huge bonus.
- What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I do a lot of things when I’m not working, most of my time lately has been spent creating terrariums (plants in glass). But otherwise, I’m a fire performer, so I spend a great deal of time training for that.
