CPI’s National Formulation Centre, located alongside CPI’s Printable Electronics and Graphene Application Centres enables us to provide a joined-up approach to the development of next-generation formulated products and their applications across markets such as healthcare, personal care, oil and gas, paints and coatings, and food and drink.
CPI is taking an industry-led approach to bring together cutting-edge cross sector expertise, technology and infrastructure, and to provide an environment for innovation which will increase productivity and accelerate the commercialisation of next generation formulated products.
In a world in which ingredients derived from natural sources are increasingly in demand, and companies are looking to conserve time and resources, there is a need for the development of techniques and models that will enable predictive design of formulated products, helping to save companies time and money in the development process. CPI is developing capability that will enable the development of models and predictive design.

Access to quality facilities was one of the main drivers for deciding to locate the business at the NETPark. We have been able to use this as a launch pad to link into support from CPI and world-class expertise from Durham University.
The proximity to the universities and the infrastructure are very important factors. Ultimately having a presence in Europe is very valuable to us and we intend to stay at NETPark for many years to come.
We initially came because of the printable electronics centre but access to a highly skilled semi conductor workforce in the North East has been a key factor in us staying and growing here, as well as the value for money office space and the access to funding.
