Research Institute
The Times Higher Education Supplement puts Durham University top of the European league and fourth in the whole world for the impact of its space science research.
The NETPark Research Institute was the first building opened at NETPark - commissioned by Durham University, it houses two world-class research groups from the University:
The Centre for Advanced Instrumentation creates advanced astronomical instrumentation for major telescopes around the world and has helped Durham to achieve a world wide impact for space science research.
The Semiconductor Crystal Growth and Ceramics Group 'grows' large diameter crystals to develop high energy, colour X-ray imaging. Technology developed from this research is currently being commercialised by Kromek, which has its global head quarters at NETPark.
