Signacure Resilience / AES Digital Solutions Ltd

As cybersecurity has become an increasingly high-profile risk to business, many organisations are requiring evidence, such as the Cyber Essentials certification, of robust IT systems as part of their procurement process.

Joe Telford from AES Digital Solutions Ltd tells us about how they have been working with fellow NETPark Net affinity member Signacure Resilience:

Why did you start working with Signacure Resilience?

Having attended a Cyber Essentials seminar run by Signacure Resilience at NETPark, we knew that this certificate would demonstrate our commitment to data security. We work within the software development sector so the products and services that we design for our clients must be secure. We have always taken the privacy of our clients’ data very seriously and we were looking for a recognised framework to comply with. Signacure Resilience had the experience to help us achieve this.

What are the benefits of having Cyber Essentials certification for AES Digital?

Being able to show our Cyber Essentials certificate means every customer and supplier we deal with can be reassured that we have a level of cyber hygiene in place that inspires confidence. It is not just our word but that of a government scheme. Gaining certification ensured we had worked through each of the 5 key domains of Access Control, Malware, Software Patching, Secure Configuration and Network and Firewall Connectivity.

And what next?

We have received a lot of complimentary remarks from both existing customers and prospects on being awarded the certificate. We are now working with Signacure Resilience to obtain the next level of assurance which is Cyber Essentials Plus. We are convinced that all organisations will need to show that they are secure to win new business and the scheme is a great way to do this.

What about from Signacure Resilience’s perspective? Dave Lloyd tells us...

Our role is to ensure that the organisations we work with have everything in place to comply with the standard first time.  Around 50% of first time applicants fail but our tried and tested system meant we could make the process simple, working through a questionnaire with Joe and his team at AES Digital to ensure they had covered everything to pass. This saved them time and money and enabled Lesley, Joe and the team to focus on the business objectives. Once we engaged with AES Digital the certificate was granted in a very short space of time, literally a few days.
